Forming Your Proposal

The ILA seeks proposal submissions that represent the best contemporary thinking about leadership from a diverse range of leadership scholars, practitioners, educators, program directors, consultants, students, and other leaders and leadership professionals. The conference theme is meant to assist, not limit or restrict proposal creation.

All proposals must specify a presentation track, or tracks for submission. Proposals will be reviewed and accepted through these presentation tracks. Please review the Presentation Tracks before creating your submission, and to determine the appropriate selection for your proposal. If you feel your proposal submission is relevant to more than one track please specify a secondary track.

All proposals must also determine a presentation format. Please review the Presentation Session Types to determine the presentation format for your proposed conference session.

Please review these additional proposal creation areas when forming your proposal:

  • Areas of Evaluation – Peer Reviewers will follow this rubric when evaluating proposed conference sessions.
  • Using the Online Proposal System – Helpful tips for using the ILA Online Proposal System
  • Proposals In Progress – ILA’s popular collaboration program for creating complete proposals with others with similar expertise
  • Proposal Resources – Characteristics of successful proposal submissions from previous Peer Reviewers and several example proposal submissions from prior years

Please make sure to review all Proposal Requirements and Guidelines prior to submitting. Submissions that do not follow all of the guidelines will not be reviewed.
