Ellen van Velsor is Senior Fellow,
Research & Innovation at the Center
for Creative Leadership (CCL)
in Greensboro, NC. She was one
of three principal investigators for CCL’s first research on women
managers, which culminated in the
publication of
Breaking the
Glass Ceiling.
Ellen played
a key role in
establishing CCL’s
expertise in
the evaluation
of leader
development and helped develop
a number of assessment resources.
During her 22-year CCL tenure,
Ellen has also been a research
scientist and director of product
development research. She is coeditor
of the The Center for Creative
Leadership Handbook of Leadership
Development and is frequently
published and quoted in both the
popular press and professional
journals. She has authored
numerous book chapters, reports,
and guidebooks and presents often.
She holds a B.A. from SUNY Stony
Brook, and a M.A. and Ph.D. in
Sociology from the University of
Florida.
